Understanding Qi
Qi is often translated as “vital energy” or “life force.” In traditional Feng Shui, the goal is to encourage Qi to move gently through a space — neither rushing nor stagnating.
Flow and stagnation
A long, straight corridor is traditionally associated with Qi moving too quickly, while a cluttered corner is associated with Qi becoming stagnant.
In practical terms, these ideas often align with good spatial design: comfortable circulation, natural light and fresh air.
Feng Shui is presented here as a traditional cultural practice and a framework for arranging space with intention. It is not a substitute for professional medical, legal, financial or psychological advice. Read the disclaimer.
