Yin and Yang
Yin and Yang describe complementary qualities — quiet and active, soft and hard, dark and bright. Traditional Feng Shui seeks a balance appropriate to how each space is used.
Balance by purpose
A bedroom is traditionally given more Yin qualities: softer light, calmer colors and fewer stimulating objects. A living area or office can hold more Yang: brighter light and more activity.
Balance is not sameness. Each space asks for its own proportion.
